Burnaby has parent-and-child music, free library storytimes, two Pui Ying schools, a church Chinese school, and online lessons from a Burnaby-based team.
Rhythm 'N' Rhyme runs Roundabout Cantonese Music (氹氹轉音樂圈) at the Nikkei National Museum on Thursdays and Fridays for ages 0-4. The same team offers a Sunday online family time, a Saturday reading class called Little Bean, and Little Explorers, an on-demand course.
Little Words Studio on North Road has a Cantonese storytime for babies and a summer Canto Tots class. Pui Ying's Burnaby Central Saturday school and Tuesday Kitchener school are Chinese schools, and Burnaby Chinese Evangelical Free Church on Rumble Street runs a Saturday-morning school taught in Cantonese, from age 4 to Grade 6. Burnaby Public Library has a free toddler storytime with Hello Canto, and a free family drop-in in Mandarin and Cantonese. Library dates come up every few weeks, so check the library calendar.

The library's toddler storytime and Family Fun in Mandarin and Cantonese are both free. Little Words storytime is a paid drop-in. For other programs, check each listing or ask the program.
Yes. Little Explorers, an on-demand course for ages 3-7 from the Rhythm 'N' Rhyme team, includes Jyutping (Cantonese romanization) vocabulary lists. It's handy for kids who are still learning to read characters.
A few Pui Ying schools say "school-age" without a grade range. They still show up by city and type, so ask the school which level fits your child.
